This use to be my favorite place. I have been eating here for the past 17 years. The food has been hit or miss when I order take out lately. I ordered chicken general Tso today. I asked for mild because my daughter loves it. It was super spicy. Which I know it’s suppose to be normally but I had asked for it to not be. Some of the chicken was also pink and not all the way cooked. The fried rice it came with was bland. I also ordered fried dumpling and the dough was raw. It was a very disappointing lunch. We ended up just throwing it away.
The food here is fantastic. It is a clean restaurant and the staff are very friendly.
Food was really good. We got the seafood hibachi for two with noodles and it was excellent the tiger and godzilla sushi was so good. My wife got the Ramon with shrimp with bone broth and loved it. The hibachi chef was really entertaining and put on a really good show. This was our first time trying a place like this and we will be back again.
This is my Honest opinion Asuka is the very best sushi place in Bloomington! I have eaten here over 80 times and the service is always excellent, be it alone or in a large group. The sushi’s is superb! The hibachi grill is excellent and entertaining. There sushi menu is the best in town, and has a large amount of sushi and sashimi!! The size of the rolls here is also excellent!! My favorite dish is the sushi love boat for 2!! It’s amazing even for one person and is served on a large boat I have had this on 10 occasions. After eating here no other sushi place in Bloomington comes close and I have tried them all!!

We have gone before to celebrate but this time was memorable. My 14 year old son had a great dinner and they sang happy birthday twice! Hibachi food was fantastic and sushi rolls were so good, we ordered more..

I will have to admit the food was good and flavorful, the waitress we had was very good as well. But it was the ending that ruined it for us! When we received our bills we paid them, and a member of the staff returned to the table asking about the tip. Just because we didn't leave their recommended tip, he was very upset and “said is that all?” not to just me but to my family as well. We all looked at each other in shock because we have never been treated that way when leaving a restaurant, needless to say regardless of how the food is, we won’t be back to this restaurant just because of the treatment at the end.
To the owner who responded, my bill was $73.44 and I don’t remember what my family paid, but our server was not the one who complained it was another staff member who I would be more than happy to show up in person to identify. We had a 4:00pm reservation for my fathers birthday dinner.
Food was delicious. Our table had spicy California roll, spicy salmon roll, dragon roll, spring rolls, crab Rangoon, and lo mein. The service was awful though. No communication between servers, lack of knowledge of the menu and gift certificate policy. The restaurant was hot and smelled very fishy. I think I would eat here again, but would do carry out instead.
First time having Hibachi and it did not disappoint! The Chef was very nice and food was prepared perfectly. Service was top tier. Loved the sushi and it was very fresh with a-lot of opinions, actually ate it before my Hibachi was done. Would love to go with a group of friends. I will definitely be going back.
